Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapy with you like?
I take an active and engaged approach to therapy. Our sessions will be conversational, interactive, and often sprinkled with humor and lighthearted moments. I believe levity is essential. I ask thoughtful questions to truly understand you and to help you develop a deeper awareness of yourself. I also share my insights openly and work best with those who appreciate honest and direct feedback.
As your therapist, my goal is to help you recognize patterns that may be holding you back and challenge perspectives that no longer serve you. Growth can be uncomfortable, and facing difficult truths isn’t always easy, especially when change feels overwhelming or out of reach. My approach is straightforward yet compassionate, creating a space where you feel supported while also being gently encouraged to step outside your comfort zone.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept any type of insurance. Upon request, I am happy to provide itemized receipts (aka a 'superbill') to you for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
I believe therapy should be a collaborative process where treatment decisions are made solely between the client and therapist. Because I prioritize your autonomy and confidentiality, I do not work with managed care insurance panels or bill insurance companies directly. This allows for greater freedom in shaping your care without outside interference.
Where are you located?
I offer sessions both virtually and in-person. My office is located on 58th street, near Central Park and Columbus Circle between 8th and 9th avenues. I work in-person Mondays and Fridays and offer virtual sessions, for clients living outside of NYC, Tuesday-Thursday.
What type of sessions do you offer?
Sessions are typically 50-minutes long. However, in certain instances, sessions may be up to 90 minutes.
I prefer to meet with individual clients on at least a weekly basis, especially at the start of therapy. Spacing sessions too far apart can make it harder to build momentum and create meaningful, lasting change. Consistent weekly sessions provide a structured, supportive environment where clients can feel safe to open up, lower their defenses, and begin exploring their emotions and experiences more deeply.
Couple, partners, and groups sessions may be scheduled every two to three weeks and can last 90 minutes to allow for deeper discussion and progress if weekly scheduling is difficult.
